architectural lighting design
lighting design for health and well-being (B.A., 2019, HAWK)
|
Light is not only the prerequisite for seeing and an important element for room atmospheres, it also has a major influence on people's health and well-being. This can be consciously designed through holistic lighting design, for which the Well Building Standard and various norms and standards provide meaningful requirements and guidelines. A comparison of these, as well as an exemplary application, showed that an improvement in health and well-being in buildings is possible with little additional effort.

taller rural - granja educativa (2017, UPB)
|
This project I created together with the MA Architecture student Michael Eggers during an exchange semester in Medellín.
The form of the complete campus was mainly developed from the way the sun makes during the year at this place. When the sun radiation is the highest it hits the lowest wall surface at the building. That way the rooms doesn‘t heat up much. Roof overhangs save the habitants in many places from direct sunlight but in the same way they allow the indirect sunlight to get inside the rooms. Ground plan drawing by Michael Eggers. |
neo-classical villa (2017, HAWK)
|
In this Villa, I wanted to combine the neo-classical style with a discreet up to date lighting system. Wall lights and centered ceiling lights support and accentuate the architecture of this house. Provided with a full lighting control system the resident is able to create his own atmospheres depending on the occasion.

city market place with church (2016, HAWK & Uni Hannover)
|
Together with landscape architecture students we redesigned this market place around a church to make it more attractive for people. Backlighted banks around the church and a focus on the architecture of the church itself takes the place out of its current darkness. Together with streetlights that pick up the lights of the surroundings it creates a welcoming market place.

office redesign (2016, HAWK)
|
Since a good use of daylight in offices gets more important nowadays I decided to keep as much roof windows as possible and support these with light panels. These suggest a daylight feeling supported by tunable white LEDs. To get a focus on the workplaces the differently used areas get different kinds of suspended lamps. Nevertheless, the lights do a reserved part to create the good atmosphere.
